Receive Red Wax Seal Letters From Mike Norton

June 24, 2025

An actual photo of what the letters look like from Mike Norton’s desk, with a real photo of the family signet ring the letters you’ll receive are sealed with.

Receive Handwritten Letters From The Writer

Most would think that, with the coming of the digital age, handwritten letters have become obsolete.

And, in many ways, they are.

One can send a digital message in a fraction of the time it would take to prepare a handwritten letter with tight cursive. One also needs the proper Victorian desk setup, involving a platform to melt the red wax on, with fire from candles to achieve the right temperature.

Then, pouring the wax upon the envelope is an artform in and of itself, requiring practice to get right in a way that’s not terribly unlike the practice it takes to master Japanese tea ceremonies.

Then, what of the seal? What exactly do you use to seal the letter with?

In ancient times, noble families used coats of arms to represent themselves as a group. It was a unique symbol that was archived for identification and authentication purposes of identifying which bloodline you belonged to.

Mike Norton turned what was a tragic event requiring him to leave his home of origin into a 20-year world traveling experience that he used to discover more about himself while connecting with distant family members who uncovered bits and pieces of the fascinating nature of his multidimensional heritage.

Throughout the process, he reinvented the ancient cross-cultural idea of having symbols represent your family into a modern version that more accurately represented his bloodline’s unique journey.

He then had that rennovated coat of arms forged into a custom family signet ring, which he now uses to seal his personal handwritten letters to those who enjoy his work.

If you are new to Norton’s Mind, this is your opportunity to have Mike write specifically to you in this way (and feel free to write back!).

(Actual photo of the back of the signet ring, mid-seal. The engraving says, “Dare do all that may become a man.” A quote from Shakespeare’s Macbeth)

If you couldn’t tell already, Mike follows a philosophy of “quality over quantity” when it comes to his followers, preferring to have 1,000 people that he has a real connection with over 100,000 people who wouldn’t be there for him if he was stranded and starving in the street.

That said, while the function of handwritten letters has become obsolete…the human soul has not.

As the Internet has connected people from across the world in function, we have simultaneously fallen disconnected in spirit.

If you feel the same way, then you’ll no doubt appreciate when, one day, perhaps when you’re feeling lonely or underappreciated…you check your mailbox to find that someone cared enough to go out of their way to handwrite to you and you personally.

Not with a boilerplate message, but with a handwritten message specifically to you, with confidentiality on what you discuss pertaining to the topics of Norton’s Mind and its affects on your life.

Someone cared enough to go the extra mile for you, to perform an ancient, classical, timeless, and ceremonial tribute to how much they care and appreciate you for your time and attention.

(Actual photo of what my son and I sent his crush at school.)

It Started With Wanting To Teach My Son

“My son once liked a specific girl at school.

He wanted to distinguish himself from other boys in order to get her attention.

So, I came up with the idea of taking him into the mountains with me, father and son, to find specific flowers we could gather to show the little girl how much he cared and was willing to go above and beyond for her.

More than that, it was an ancient, ritualistic demonstration of skills worthy of great respect that few men have anymore.

My son wrote on the brown parchment paper: “Hi [girl’s name]. I like you very much. Will you play with me?”

Then, we took some of the mountain flowers with a bird feather, and stuck the stems of them into the red wax we melted onto the letter, and sealed it with the family sigil.

I journaled about the experience on social media. My followers loved the story.

I then posted if any among them would want to receive a red wax sealed letter from me?

I was expecting only three to five people to speak up, maximum.

Instead, I received hundreds of comments and direct messages of people enthusiastic to really receive something like that—most had never in their entire lives.

(If you become my pen pal, I will not be sending you the same mountain flowers I gave my son in the story. This is due to how many of my followers live overseas, which means it becomes a nightmare to get the flower through customs before it wilts and rots before arrival.)

I then realized that what I had unintentionally developed was a totally authentic method of building a real, human connection with the people who enjoyed my work.

And now, I offer it to you.

Totally free. I’ll pay for my own postage for whatever I send to you, so long as you pay for yours.

What I offer is a genuine, human, pen pal connection. That’s all.

How are you? What’s going on in your life? How can I create content that serves those pain points?

Write to me. Without limits. In your free time, as many times as you wish.

I will actually read what you send me, personally.

And I will actually write back.

Our correspondence should be thought of as a privilege, as I reserve the right to reject writing to certain individuals on case-by-case scenarios.

Though, unless you and I have personally butted heads in the past, your chances of being accepted are astronomically high.

Some of my pen pals are older, divorced people who are going through a hard time and just want to know that somebody cares.

Others are tweenagers who appreciate someone masculine to look up to, but can see through the lies and posturing of common so-called “alpha male” phonies who are all flash but no substance.

I merely ask that you have empathy for how long it may take for me to get back to you at times, because I can only produce 3-5 letters per day—which mean that to be on a waiting list is quite normal.

But the correspondence will always be authentic. Always actually signed by me. And always sealed by candle fire with my actual ring by my own hand.

Anyone I am in continual handwritten correspondence with has my priority attention. Spoken plainly, if you and I are taking the time to handwrite to each other, you are essentially a VIP, for not all followers are equal.

If we’re writing to each other, your voice has exponentially heavier weight to influence everything about my work—from the SubStack articles I write to the books that I publish.

Also, keep in mind that it would behoove you to keep the letters I send you locked away and preserved somewhere, as they may be worth money some day.

Meanwhile, if you feel unworthy of such correspondance, you’re almost certainly incorrect. I say this because a few people hesitated to ask because they thought that they were beneath my time and attention, but they were wrong.

So, if you’ve been following me on social media for a time and like to receive handwritten letters from me—give it a shot.

You have but to ask. And the worst that could happen is that I politely decline.

To become my pen pal, merely click the button below to access the contact page of this website. Write in the body of your message what you want. And I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. It’s that simple.”
